Biography
Moldig were formed in 2005 in Torino, Italy, as a duo (Giuditta Corgnati on vocals/bass and Enrico Bricco on guitars). On stage we are joined by Daniele Pavignano on drums .

Here's something of what happened...

"The treachery", was chosen as song of the week at www.rock-Industries.com in June 2006, and included in the German Magazine no. 54 Compilation ( distributed all over Europe) together with artists such as The Sounds and other major label artists.

We were also elected Best New Comers 2007 for the newyorkish Magazine Drop Dead Magazine.

.... "A game", was a song featured on "Notes from the New Underground no.7" Compilation (www.post.punk.com ), and "Mirror", was featured on the German "Smoke & Spotlight" Compilation no. 2.

...."Horizon", was featured on " Stay in the Box ", a Matchbox Recordings (Oxford, UK) showcase album released worldwide and advertised worldwide on MTV2.

Our EP (Moldig, 2006, self-production. tracklist: 1 The treachery 2 A game 3 Strangers 4 20 seconds) got good response from critics including these:

- Dave Chislett the famous journalist says: "From Canavese, Italy, Moldig are basically a rock band, but a two piece, boy and girl one. Enrico and Guiditta play the guitars and bass, with Giuditta providing the vocals. It's a dark, hypnotic sound, but a simple and straightforward one that is pretty absorbing. More proof, as if we still needed it, that great rock music can come from pretty much anywhere" .

- Mick Mercer (The Mick 30) says : "…with hissyfit guitar and dust-free surfaces, they exude class, from the simple diamond-faceted vocal intrusions, as the memorable nature of their music when the suddenly cut back to the guitar still patrolling mindfully"

Bugbear says " ....A bright brittle sort of sound...a pop noire duo with Banshees guitars and a Garbage go grunge sort of sound"

Our songs received radio passages on various radio stations: Radio Reverb, Matchbox Radio, Insomnia Radio, Thirteen13 (UK), Radio Tonkuhle (DE), Ash Radio , Nette Radio, Juper Radio, Rock365, Wireonline, Headcase Radio, (USA), Isonlive Radio (Australia), RLP, RadioPNR, RadioBaldanza (It), InerciaRadio (Mexico) and have been played by DJs in Europe, USA and Australia. German Magazine no.54 said "The treachery" is filling the dancefloors at German parties!".

Our first album (Moldig- No Title) has been released on the 28th of Nov, 2007. Some of the songs feature Glenn Maryansky (on drums) from the newyorkish band Blacklist. (http://www.myspace.com/blacklistmusic)

The album is receiving good response from critics as well as from the listeners.

- Frank Deserto, on www.post-punk.com says:
"Despite having heard a mere handful of numbers by Italian post-punk band Moldig, I knew straightaway that they were something special. After several compilation appearances, including one on our very own Notes From the New Underground series, Moldig have just released their self-titled debut in November of this year, and what a stunning debut it is! "

- Mick Mercer says: " It seems impossible, really it does. That Moldig is simply Giuditta Corgnati on vocals and bass with Enrico Bricco on everything else, seems so strange, unless he’s a musical genius octopus? That would work, although it would limit live possibilities.

Kind of post-punk pop with awesome potential, Moldig are a duo (jopined by a drummer live) who don’t sound remotely home-recorded or restrained, like many who are coming to terms with what being a duo entails. If someone told you this muscular, tuneful album was a well travelled band you’d believe it, because these are the songs The Cardigans never had the style to imagine, and they come at you from different areas of modern Indie noise but with melodic depth, which obviously aids accessibility, but there are regular tiny corruptions, so nothing is commercially bland.."

Here's a couple of live reviews (Joogleberry Playhouse Brighton UK 2/1/08

"....Italian indie rock outfit Moldig are however a far better proposition. .... I get hints of Patti Smith, but a more direct, less arty take on what has made her a legend, The Smiths, particularly in the guitar work, U2, when the guitarist really lets rip and shows how virtuoso he can be and My Bloody Valentine in the sublime way the vocals are delivered. A lovely all encompassing sound that is maybe a bit dated but is which means they are definitely a good band" Brad Middleton for RemoreGoat

"the beguiling singer and bassists Giuditta's vocals brought to mind the low register of Echobelly's Sonya and the ethereal moments of the Cocteau Twins, while the bass heavy rock they produce brings to mind one of the bands influences 'the editors' amongst others. After the end of a slightly meandering set with few surprises I'd still have to say it's true that all the best bands have female base players" Jess McSchmesh for RemoteGoat
